Sneakers and Style: The Inaugural Youth Fashion Show Fundraiser Presented by SOGWOA

Celebrating our Youth in Style with SOGWOA

On February 25, 2023, the hospice care program Servants of God with Open Arms (SOGWOA) hosted its 1st Annual Sneaker & Tennis Shoe Youth Showcase at VLPRA, presented by SOGWOA Founder Wanda Denson and the SOGWOA organization of dedicated officers and members. This fashion show fundraiser was a huge success, with a sold-out event that raised funds for the important work of SOGWOA.

The Showcase featured an array of styles and designs, presented in various scenes, including Creative Walk, Sparkle and Shine, African Attire, Denim Wear, and Formal Wear with Sneakers. Honorees were recognized for their exceptional achievements, with trophies presented to Mariah Dennis, Miracle Faison Mullins, and Akayla Williams.

The event was emceed by the talented Rosa Moore, who kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the night. Fashion Show coordinator Tonya Singleton ensured that every detail of the event was executed flawlessly, from the clothing to the staging. A beautiful rendition of His Eye Is On The Sparrow was done by Ms. Lydia Tooley, and memorable poetry was shared by Ms. Earline James.

Guests were treated to delicious food and were invited to dance the night away after the fashion show. It was a night to remember, and we want to thank everyone who participated and all of the parents who supported their children in this incredible event.
